PHOTOTHERAPY UNIT

Phototherapy is the use of light – ultraviolet (UV) light – to treat skin diseases.

It is a proven treatment for inflammatory skin conditions like:

  • Psoriasis
  • Atopic Dermatitis and other Eczemas
  • Vitiligo
  • Mycosis fungoides (a type of skin lymphoma)
  • Alopecia areata
  • Other phototherapy responsive skin conditions

Such is also very effective for itchiness due to kidney or liver disease and other chronic causes, as well as other inflammatory skin conditions.

In generalized phototherapy, a patient stands inside a UV cabinet while wearing the appropriate protective gear. This treatment is generally safe – even with prolonged use – and is the ideal treatment option for chronic skin conditions. Narrowband ultraviolet B (NBUVB), in particular, offers the added advantage of being safe for pregnant and lactating women, children, and those with liver or kidney disease.

Our Services:

  • Whole Body Phototherapy
  • Hand and Foot Phototherapy
Narrow band UVB for hand and foot eczemas
  • Localized/ Targeted Phototherapy
Targeted Narrowband UVB for localized lesions and scalp treatments
